Sorry I missed the other posts.  I am thinking the orphanage/support for children of veterans.

You arrive at the Drunken Reveler, and Modread moves quickly to intercept you near the door. "What's with the kegs?" he asks.

RE: charity...

I figured I ran a charity event to raise the funds. I disagreed with the charity organizer on how many he money should be spent and ordered bunk beds instead of single beds (doubling the capacity), or something similar.

Regarding charity that is fine.  I will work it up over the next couple of weeks, unfortunately both work and family are very hectic at the moment.

“Well, I will gladly give you one of no charge, just for allowing me to bring them into your fine establishment. Once we have tasted it, savored it over several tastings, and find it acceptable, I have not tasted it yet myself, so cannot guarantee it’s taste, then I would sell you the second at a reasonable price, what you deem fair.”

"How could one argue such a deal," Mordread says as he smiles.  He ushers you to the bar.  "Pek grab a tap and mallet and 3 mugs."  In no time the keg is tapped and 3 mugs filled.  The keg it turns out is not filled with beer, but Dwarven mead.  After just a few mugs, your head is swimming in that old and pleasant way.  You notice that the bouncer and bartender are also feeling no pain.  It strikes you that it might be prudent to transact any business now, before your or the buyer become to inebriated to be functional.

** well, I would conduct transactions after we have tasted it, so the first mug.

“Well, this is an unexpected surprise. I am sure you will be able to set a good price for such a fine mead. So, let us discuss the price for the second keg, while we continue to enjoy this bit of the heavens.”

“If we weren’t such ‘good friends’, I would be insulted by that offer.

You know I’ve visited many bars and inns in my life, so I have a reasonable understanding of the commerce involved. You can easily get 3-5 silvers for each mug, maybe more. You’d get 60-70 mugs from that keg, depending on how generous you are with the portions.

I think you’d better have a second cup, and then make me a real offer.

The bouncer, and shortly thereafter the bartender, grab a second mug.  "It is a good brew and I can probably get a few copper per mug.  how about 2 silver, but not a copper more." says the bouncer

** do I really think this is a good price? Didn’t I just pay 5 silver for one glass? Was it really that much better ?

You paid 5 silver for a pitcher of mead.  And this seems to be the same mead you had at the White Wake Inn.  You do not know much about the wholesale beverage business.  But you do know that here prices can vary widely for more or less the same product depending on who is selling it

“I’d love to be able to sell you this exquisite mead for the two silver pittance, but have to at least cover my costs. I was going to the Green Goblin next, please save me the trip. Let’s conclude our business at 5 silver, and enjoy the remainder of this free keg together.”

Mordread thinks for a moment and then says, "With the festival almost upon us I can see the market may improve slightly.  Also you are sharing this keg.  Hmmm, I can see may way clear to you price but just this once."  With that he chugs the rest of his mug and reaches for another.  Then says, "Pek, grab 5 nobles from the till and pay this good man.  Then place this keg in a safe spot until next week."

“Good man... good man”, I say with a smile, and finish mine as well, and reach for another.
