Updated character sheet attached. I added level bonuses per ROCO II and picked two additional spell lists per the background option.

The way I play the spell acquisition these rolls would have generated no spells at adol. Concussion Mastery at first, but if you took 1 more rank in spell acquisition you would have a roll for a second list at appernt.  Albeit the roll would only be +5%.  Your call.

The only issue I have noticed on the sheet is that climbing costs 6 DP not 3.

I would allow spending 3 now and 3 next level but no bonus until next round.

Pardon me? You don't allow a partial % chance to roll? I must spent 15 DP to get a list each level? That would 5*15 + 25 (PR) for 100 ...

Could you clarify?

I'll change that to something else

Yes, I can clarify.  I do allow partial % for spell, but under the rules I typically play, you wouldn't start a new spell list until the old was completed. Thus, with 11 DP put into spell acquisition--6 at adol. and 5 at apprentice. You would have had a 55% chance for the first list.  If you failed, the next level would add another 25% to the roll for 80% chance of getting that first list. Unfortunately in my last post, I failed to account for the stat bonus in my thinking.  So as I said originally, you can track each spell individually and note when they are achieved.  Sorry for any confusion.

Hmmm, difficult to play a viable spell caster with so few spells .... I'm going to pause and reconsider the class.

(My ruleset allowed for more spells per caster ... but as they say YMMV)

My other party has a similar character.  I have allowed him to develop diagnosis to a point where he has over a 30+ to skills rolls (including stat bonus).  Through a misread of the rules I allow him a +30 to surgery efforts to the chosen race.  This permits actions like minor surgery, sutures and acupuncture, with a reasonable chance of success or near success.  I too have become especially aware of the limitations of healers early in the game.  I would also suggest that early one herbs and potions might be more the norm that spell repair.  as your spell capacity grows, the need for these would be diminished.

Also within the City setting there will be more healing assistance available, even if at a cost, than you would find in a typical setting.  This is a vital aspect of the party and I would encourage you to stick with it.  I would also offer that due to your background you have traveled at least 1/2 way around the world to get here.  I am not opposed to playing some of those travels out to give you a bit more experience.

In other games, as well as this one, I have developed a story about the travels but interrupt the narrative with specific encounters that you would play out/make choices about.  Let me know if you are interested and I will begin formulating my story with the dispersal/destruction of your clan.

I hope this helps.  If not let me know how you wish to proceed.

I have an idea, perhaps going with a completely non-spell using doctor (different class - will look in ROCO II for skill cost matches) ...

That would be fine.  You could even be an herbalist/medic.  What I envisioned was a non-magic base to get you reasonably proficient with minor wounds until the magic caught up and you could use that for more significant wounds.  This is why I mentioned the +30 to surgery with a diagnosis bonus of 30 for a chosen race.  Right now most of the party are common men so that would work well.  The healer in  the other party is actually a necromancer and an NPC healer is a torturer, but both have learned anatomy and can apply those skills to healing.

either way feel free to play any profession you want--it is a game and about having fun.  So don't stick with a healer f the rules will make it no fun to play.

OK scholar is IN/RE base stats. Most healing is SD/EM/IN plus ME/RE for lore skills. So I think 90s in IN/RE and then the 96s in SD/EM might work well ...

A 69 is a lesser noble, with 5 background options and starting cash of 1d100-25 SP.  A noble pit fighter might take some creativity, but a duelist seems an easy fir.
