As GM, I would like to make all rolls during your character generation.
I will also validate your character selections. You may present your case for a reroll at any time.

For a character sheet/generator I am using Jonathan Dale's Excel spreadsheet downloaded from the ICE web site. I will also post a text form here.

Please post OOC replies here. Lets try to keep the story line clean.
Also on that note please keep foul language to a minimum. I realize that a character's language may include such words, and it is ok to use some of the less foul, but I do ask you to use restraint.  Other invective language must be kept strictly in character and please avoid using infammatory language. Please keep your posts here clean as well. Thanks

Ok. You've got my interest (I only just noticed this game and thought that it was an existing one transferring across from the old site...therefore not in the recruitment threads).

By making all the dice rolls during character creation, what do you mean?

I say this because I thought attributes could be based on allocating 660 points. (True Potentials need to be rolled...as do stuff gained from Training Packages)

I would like to play : Kagoth  Scientist (S/A Medical)

I would like to spend my B/O point to reduce the cost of a Training Package by 50%

For Training Packages : Combat Medic  19, Medical Degree (L 27/2) 14, Primary Education 24, Medical Resident 21 =68 DP

Should there be any points remaining put them in M/A (Sweeps and Throws)  then cooking or a herb related skill.

For Hobby Skills : Craft (Cooking) 2, Trading 2, T/T Vehicle (Truck ?) 2, Botany 2, First Aid 2

Thank you for your intrest.

A1: You are correct. This is a game that was started fon the old forms. I did'nt get a chance to add a topic to recuitment yet.

A2: Yes there are 2 player options in generating stats.
O1: Assign 660 points to purchase temporay stats.
O2: Add a fixed modification to the corresponding temp stat for the pot stat value.
You may select eighter option rather than having rolls for these values.
In any case you may purchase your character's temp stats as you please.
Please post your temp and pot stats values once you asign them. I will create a char sheet with Excel for my own tracking.

A3: That is a fine choice. You do have some selection to do for adolescence.

Fine so far except:

Flaws are these chosen or rolled randomly? My choices were based upon my characters background..which I have yet to create but would be based upon a "hippy" type Kagoth (sort of a Herbalist/medic), I don't know much about the game you are going to run but I would have thought that Passive (-10) would have been more appropriate (and restrictive) than Uncoordinated (-7) since the Kagoth are already restricted when purchasing Athletic- Gymnastic Skills.

As for Tenderskin, this isn't going to restrict me since I won't be wearing armour.

I chose Stubborn since it seemed like a "Bear-like Trait" and Superstitious to represent a "Druidic/Hippy" background.

In RM the cost for a 1/2 cost TP is 10 points. I know that the total cost of flaws is greater this way but I'm happy to accept the loss.

Hobby Skills.  Botany and First Aid..I thought these where chosen before any other skills. Why do you consider them to be in-appropriate, they fit in with my intended background and are not exactly power-gamer skills. There doen't appear to be any such restriction in the rules.

(On second thoughts change both ranks from Botany to 1 rank each in Herb Lore, Use Prepared Herb and 2 ranks of First Aid to 1 rank each in Prepare Herbs and Cooking)

I'll choose Baking as my specialisation for Cooking.

Going through the optional skills gained from TP:

A1: There are 2 rules that I folow with Hobby skills.
  • No category or skill may be increased by more ranks than the maximum that can be normaly developed
  • Hobby ranks should not be combined with other adolescence ranks.
As the player, your character should fit with your intent. So I may relax the second rule.

I will aslo edit the previous skills post to reflect your selections.

Many thanks.. Have you got any details re: the game setting yet or is it as the Privateers campaign setting? I'll come up with a more detailed character concept and background when I know, until then...

Name: Ruffrop Beron (Although he prefers being called the human name Rupert)
Height: (Slightly smaller than Average) 2.75 M
Weight: (Slightly heavier than Average) 420 kg

Appearance: Dark Grey fur with lighter shades round the face and muzzle.

Demeanor: Relaxed and generally friendly.

Spent much of his youth in the forests of his home planet. Being an only child of an elderly mother lead to him being both spoilt and somewhat stifled by her and his two fathers. She taught him the ways of the healer whilst they toiled to pay for a suitable education and to support him. As such he remains fairly relaxed about work in general.  When his mother decreed that he should go to the city to be educated further it came as a shock to him. His education was mixed, he tried to emulate the ways of his mother but found the "modern ways" of medicine initally hard to adjust to. Luckily for him his teacher, a human, was of a similar nature and he recieved special classes. After leaving college he enrolled in several government funded vocational courses off world and discovered that he had an apptitude for medicine in general.  He still maintains an avid interest in Plants and herbs in general. Though his opinions are not always met with complete approval by more orthodox medical practictioners.

Very slow to anger or to be exploited for manual labour, however although sharing the races natural pacifist disposition he proves surprising aggresive in the defense of his charges.

Here is my deal for you.

Option 1: Use your original background selections as follows
  • Stat Gain Qu (73 +3 = 76)
  • Money 60K cr
  • 3 & 4 for Barrier Shield
  • Items (2 x +10 Items)
  • Extra Languages
Option 2: you repick and/or I reroll backround

I think this will be better than trying to go through the archives.

Please remember that you have adolesence skill rank left to assign.
also you should assign your psychic and wepon category DP costs,

Option 1 Works for me...

However on the Background Options Table T-1.5, under the Extra Stat Gain Rolls option is says..

1-H Melee, Thrown, 2-H Melee, 1-H Energy, Support, 2-H Energy, 1-H Firearms then 2-H Firearms... Although I hope I don't need them.
