FtMoKC: House Rules - Currency
« on: January 18, 2012, 03:01:48 PM »
I am going to use the extended Currency table instead of just Shillings, Pennies and Pounds.

2 copper farthings = 1 half penny
2 half pennies = 1 penny
1 half groat = 2 pence
1 threepence = 3 pence
1 groat = 4 pence
1 sixpence = 6 pence
2 sixpence  = 1 silver shilling
1 half-crown = 2 shillings and 6 pence
1 crown = 5 shillings
1 gold angel = 10 shillings
20 shillings = 1 gold pound

We will start off with this, if I find it too difficult to keep up with then we can simplify.
"How do you hold on to an angel?"

"Hook em by the wing joint. You know where it jogs in there? Clip or a claw... a snare would do it."

Excellent. Im fine with this, even though we gave up on pounds, shillings and pence in the 60s. Good to see the groat getting a run.

"You owe me a groat." gets said a bit with us (only because its line from a comedy show.)
Look at me still talking when there's Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me glad I'm not you.
I've experiments to run, there is research to be done
