Unless/until some event gives him reason to do otherwise. Going it alone on foot doesn't seem like such a great idea.

It is interesting, reading the version of the Weeping Waste in The Unknown East, vs the version in the Stormbringer 4th Ed rules. I was going with 4th ed and my imagination starting this.

And after reading the Unknown East, I think I will stay with my version but increase  the rain. The main reason is they portray the barbarians of the waste to be far more primitive then they do in the rules. For instance they never mention the barbarian wooden armor or horseman's recurve bow. They say that the tribes go on foot and use slings and spears. I don't know if later editions of the rules made the tribes less advanced, but to me that is the sort of people that would inhabit Oin and Yu.

So that is my explanation on the tribesmen. I will use aspects of the Unknown East for flavor, but the tribes will be more advanced then what they have in there.

The wiki on Moorcock's site speaks of "eternal rain". http://www.multiverse.org/wiki/index.php?title=Weeping_Waste

Of course, you've got extra wiggle room by setting things before Elric.

Are you planning on having him heal up before he does something new? Do you plan to go to the towers on the lake?

Yes, I do want to check out those towers by the lake, but should like to heal up first. I'll also want to check out the local plant life: maybe I'll find a useful herb.

I'm likely to be slow posting for a bit. Two of the other games I'm playing are heading towards their conclusion right now and my online time is limited.

I don't think there's anything else to do until the raft is finished.

I'm just waiting to get to the tower. Unless somebody is carrying a net, I'm out of ideas for things to do on the water.

Sorry this has been dragging as of late. I had a bunch of ideas a long time ago and they have kind of fizzled. Sometimes my ideas do that. However, I can try to bring it out if you are still up for it, or we can side table it if you want.

Well, I've been kind of busy with Rolemaster revision, so haven't had any urge to push, but if you can set a snare for your muse, I'd go on. If it just isn't there (and I guess you didn't have something prepped), then go ahead and call it and we can consolidate space on the gaming table.
