Character Generation
« on: June 06, 2009, 02:17:13 AM »
Requirments:  Everyone has Patron [20] and Duty (12) (Extremely Hazardous) [-15] for free.  The duty is to the Company, and the Company is your Patron.  They are based out of Luna City, Luna.

You have 400 points to play with and may take up to -100 points in disadvantages.  You may have up to 5 quirks, as per standard, but you do not get points for quirks until you actually select them.

Standard starting wealth is $50,000.  As per standard, up to 20% of this is not tied up in large assets like vehicles, housing, etc.  Note that prices for equipment from TL 11 adn TL 12 should generally be doubled or quadrupled, respectively, and confirmed beforehand.  (The price isn't always 100% accurate that way - exspecially with superscience gear).

As always, concept before stats.  You could find yourself pulled a hundred directions otherwise.

If you have any questions or what not, feel free to post or PM.

Skill Levels and What They Mean
Newblet:  3 - 6 (0.5% - 9.3%)
Incompetent:  7 - 8 (16.2% - 25.9%)
Average:  9 - 11 (37.5% - 62.5%)
Professional:  12 - 13 (74.1% - 83.8%)
Expert: 14 - 19 (90.7% - 98.1%)
Master: 20 - 25 (98.1%)
Best Ever: 26 - 30 (98.1%)

A typical person will have several average life skills, a few incompetent skills left over from his formal education, and one or more professional skills that he uses to make a living.  Experts and Masters tend to be very good at several skills closely related to their field of expertise rather than raising one skill to extraordinary levels.

The figures in parentheses are the success rate for normal use of the skill under mild stress.  Note that there is little gain above a level of 14, and skills usually cost a lot of CP at that point.  A person with high DX or IQ is just naturally gifted, but even tey will not usually raise their skill level above what is necessary to do their job.  Few people are so truly dedicated as to study one skill to the exclusion of others.
