(L) signifies that this is a leveled skill (percentage based).
(NL) signifies that there is no level.  You either know it, or you don't.

To learn a (NL) skill costs 1 skill point.

For (L) skills, each skill point spent on a skill gives that skill 10%.  (So, spending 3 skill points on Acting gives 30% in the skill).

Now is a big decision:

Do you want a roll on the Major Psionic Power table, or do you want 1d3+1 rolls on the Minor Psionic Power Table.

Major Psionic Powers are broad fields with related abilities.
Minor Psionic Powers are less broad, but have some interesting potentials.

Once you tell me which way you want to go, I'll make a roll in your character creation thread.

I will not tell you the result at present, but you will discover it in the game.

Name: Florinka Sloane

Background: Originally born in San Francisco, CA and lived there until her parents split when she was six. Her mother, a native of Atlanta, GA, moved back there with her after everything was finalized. With the help of her mother’s family the two of them were able to secure a nice sized apartment and fall firmly into the middle-class niche.

In school Florinka was one of the infamous ‘popular kids’, having been a dedicated member of the cheerleading squad. However she never fell into the whole ‘mean girl’ stereotype. As a student she pulled solid B’s; sometimes C’s when she was feeling particularly lazy.

One talent that she found she excelled at above all else was singing. After graduation she tried her hand at breaking into the music industry. Ultimately she was only partly successful, snagging various jobs that mostly involved singing little jingles and tunes for commercials. Now she’s working on a few tracks for an upcoming video game. Not quite the top-charting material she had in mind but it pays the bills.

I really don’t know what kind of technical skills would fit her. Are they required? And do all the points have to be used?

As for skills, I would recommend:

• one level of computer programming (we will do it as a non-level toward sound manipulation software).
• one level of electrical systems (you may have had to put together your sound equipment).
• a few levels of Acrobatics (you were a cheerleader).
• a few levels of  Unarmed combat (self-defense classes).
• Dancing (again, cheer leading).
• a few levels of acting (this would give you some stage presence).

You do have to spend all of the points.  You don't have to have any of the technical skills.  If you have only a few, put points into those.
