Note: I don't know whether or not Dex is on Muse's regular payroll or is a contract employee. Most lighting/staging/audio companies will only have a handful of people on permanent payroll besides the office staff, the vast majority being contracted for each gig. Contractors close to the top of the food chain like Dex will get close to 40 hr weeks anyway, but they are free to take whatever gig is going from whoever's offering it. Most will work for pretty much every lighting/sound/staging company in the area.

If Dex is one of those (Theo is even more likely to be one) then he can vanish at any time, just by getting an offer on a gig in Dallas, or New York, or Myrtle Beach, or Branson, or, or, or.... or not even an offer, just saying he's going somewhere to check on one.

...could make things a lot easier for me in this current situation. Make a couple phone calls and my cover story is suddenly airtight.

If you want to be a contract employee, that's fine.

I'm sure you have enough banked to hold you for a while.

That's where the best combination of freedom and money is. Get a road gig, work 7-12's for something like 30 weeks, take the rest of the year off if you want.
And the actual experienced console operators, that's the kinda thing most of em do. If you see em working a small, one day gig, it's basically during their 'off half a year' and they're working when they feel like it, or because the company called em up and says the client asked for them by name. Most of the small, one day gigs are run by guys like Theo, capable but still new enough at it to only be gettin small gigs.
Especially at Dex's age... 26? He's old enough to have the experience to be a fairly good console op, young enough to have the "work hard/party hard/repeat for 6 months" attitude & stamina it takes to survive being a road dog. By the time road dogs are 40 they're part of the office staff, or bossing huge gigs involving hundreds of hands, and that's a "working retirement". Assuming they're still alive, of course. Dex is still young enough to want his challenges from the gig, rather than from dealing with the client. The old dogs' job is to keep the client outta his hair so he can work the gig.

And realistically... think about it.... if at age 26 Dex is Sound Boss/FOH Engineer for Braves Opening Day, he's one of Muse's rising stars when it comes to audio. He would probably make a point to play the field, track gigs and look for offers all over the world... it's good for his career. FOH engineer for, say, Gwen Stefani or Green Day or Evanescence doing a world tour? Before he's 30? His career would be made, he could pick and choose his gigs for the rest of his life.

Theo is still at the stage where he's makin a name for himself in the industry, right?
And he gets told Rev. McDougal wants him personally on a gig?

The odds of Theo turning it down are what, exactly?

Theo is at the stage.
If you told him to come for a briefing on the gig, he would come.

Hi guys and gals!

I'm sorry for the delay, but I'm getting really swamped at work.  Now that my head is above water, I'm going to carve out some time daily to keep up with the game if your still ready to go.

I'm going to try to wrap up the night and get us to the next day.  Some groups are ready for that next step :).

Hate to butt in again (OK, I lie, it's what I do best) but is this game going forward?  I was very much enjoying what y'all were up to.

What are our chances of getting this game moving again? Anything we players can do to help things along?

I saw rmax checked the board on the 25th for the first time in 6 weeks or so.

Is it worth PMing him?

Well if he's still swamped, I don't want to jog his elbow while he's trying to get clear of it.

If the 25th was the first time in 6 weeks, he's probably still getting clear.

Looking like this game went south. Shame, I was enjoying playing it...
