Not the best of the lot I found, but fairly decent.  It seems the site is still under construction because many of the links on the left returned 404 errors.  The one link I found that worked is "Herb Facts" or the second link below will take you directly there.

About time I checked these posts.  Will need to find the time and continue searching for other sites.

If anybody else finds sites that would be helpful, feel free to post.

Is this limited to fantasy worlds?  I have a world history that I and my wife have been developing for close to 20 years.  It has an active history spanning many game settings to time lines.

Hmmm, they all worked for me, and that was linking off your quotes.

I learned how to read weather as a kid too, but it's nice to have a layout for those who didn't. Easier to give your druid's player the link than to teach him.

Specific grav/wt. per cu'... nice to have a table.

"The labyrinth" has nothing to do with mazes, it's just what Georgetown U. calls their medieval studies dept I guess...

Dunno why the links didn't work for you, but they did for me.

I would like to say thanks to everybody who posted links. I do feel that I will find them very useful as I start developing the world of Tyrlon for my Novus RPG.

Finally came back and checked the links.  Deleted some of my posts where there were dead links.  Deleted dead links from some posts.

Here is another for minerals/metals:

http://www.mindat.org/

Nice thing about this one is if you know the name of a mineral, you input it into the Mineral Name search box.  Once at the page for the mineral, about a screenful down (depends on monitor resolution), you have a link for finding images of that mineral using Google Images.  Once at Google images, you get a couple hundred images of the mineral in natural form, polished form, gem cut form (if applicable), etc.
