Violence?  As in "get all the dynamite you can carry plus a shotgun"?

Boom!  Boom!

;D

If I do my job right, the player with the shotgun will be most dangerous . . . to himself.

*cue scary music*

All I know about Cthulu is that you never, ever cast "Summon Ralph Tiatne".

I have no idea who Ralph Tiatne is.  But just about any statement that says, "never, ever cast ______" would be right on point.   :)

Maybe it is spelled "Ralph Tiotne" or "Ralph Teotny". But someone cast it once. They saw a foot. Not a dismembered foot. A giant foot stepping on them. The party fled from Boston in a Model T and did not stop until they hit water. The Pacific Ocean. They were in Seattle when they learned the US ARmy was having trouble with some guy called Nialathartep or something...

Hehehe.  The giant crushing foot is so Cthulhu-esque.  The "damage description" text for Cthulhu himself in the core book is some of the best RPG text . . . ev-ar!  :)

Cthulhu's Damage: "Kill 1d3 investigators per round."   ;D

I can help since I have the CoC (Call of Cthulhu) rules.  I have the rules book.  Even if want a rules-free system, I can still provide emotional support.  :D

I can also answer questions that may arise...

If I can, can I play?  In actuality, I'd rather be occassional NPC...

Quick Rules (B&W) available here.

Hmmmm, that sounds like a fun idea.  Let me give some thought to this (basically which NPC and when), and I'll PM you with details.

Giant crushing foot?  Sounds like Bambi vs. Godzilla!

I understand what you're talking about with systems MysticalNun. What's held me back from playing is trying to make a character to match the complex game systems.
My brain hit a bad sector.

Well, the good news is that Call of Cthulhu (BRP) is pretty simple.  The Quick Start Guide has all the rules on about 5.5 pages, and that includes character creation and combat!  That's my kind of system.   :)

Also, if anyone wants to play, but would like for me to create their character for them, just let me know.  Also, arakish has volunteered to help so they'll be plenty of help to go around.  I'm sure this is true of any of the systems played here.
