Got "You are not authorised to view this resource. You need to login." trying to use the shoutbox.

Logged out, then in at the portal. Then I could shout.

Shout box is wider than the display box for the shout. (the left indent is like 3/4" on my screen, and the shouts extend about 1" off the right side into oblivion, forcing a scroll.)

It's REALLY white, like 20 min to eyestrain white. The board itself is soft on the eyes.

Logged into the board, now I have the vertical left bar of stuff, snazzy. (any way to make it match the main board color scheme?)

Re-sizing to accomadate the left column portal stuff worked for all boards but "Games", which now has different width columns from the rest of the boards.

I'll test out news and the rest later.

after I replied above, I noticed that all the lines of text in the thread are now center aligned instead of right. In fact, almost everything on the board is now center aligned except for "Subject:" "Message Icon" and "Posted By:X"

the alignment is odd, not getting on my browser, but I think I know how to fix it.

the shout is fine on mine too, but I can fix

I like the white :(

the column widths, don't know why, will look at.

It's unlikely anyone will be staring at the full page portal for so long as to make the brightness a problem, and the white does make it very clean looking. The only real issue may be that white on white the boxes don't stand out much.

The column widths on "games" are off on the main board too, it's apparently not a portal issue.

that's interesting, it's perfect in safari and firefox, which browsers are you having the problem with?

as for the CSS of the portal, that can be changed, and will be later, I just want it working properly before I do.

The brown column, with "Topics" and "Posts" is lined up for the right edge, but about 1/4" larger on the left side than the columns for everything but "Games".

It's I.E. of course, of course. . .heheh.

they're masters of writing a decent program, it's "good" that escapes them.

tried voting on the portal poll, got "Cookies must be enabled!" even after I set permissions for this site to essentially naked.

I have no trouble posting on this site. However, I was unable to vote in the poll on the portal page. For the record, I am not thrilled. (Since I bypass it, the portal does not really bother me.)

I think it's logins that are the issue, only cryak ever logs into the portal as far as I can see from the admin panel.

can anyone see the shout box to the left?

The columns are re-sized, the brown column in "Games" is now only slightly larger than the others on it's left edge. (So slightly I had to hold a pen up to the screen to make sure it was not an optical illusion.)

The portal boxes are back to white.

Shoutbox is gone

alignment of the skin inside the forum seems off, the "Main menu" box of the portal skin used to line up even with the top bar of the SMF forum, now it's above it, so that it aligns evenly with the top of the banner area.

You seem to be fiddling as I do, not sure if you changed something, but I logged off, then logged back in via the portal, and presto, there was the shoutbox.

I'm still feelling my way around at the moment... but (as I posted elsewhere), I think the font used for the forum subtitles is too large when accessed through the Portal..they are larger than the forum titles themselves...

Coming in direct to the forums the subtiles are smaller...

I preferred the shoutbox near the top, and the "time on-line stuff" at the side.

Also now I've found the shoutbox, how do I get the smilies?
