House Rules

Character Creation

1) Players will use the BeCKS system for character creation.  (link at bottom)

2) Players will use the Shadowrun character generation software indicated.  (link at bottom)

3) Standard availability rules apply on equipment (availability<9; rating<7).

4)  Power Foci are NOT allowed at character creation.

5)  Equipement and abilities are limited to the Shadowrun core book with limited exceptions either listed here or by approval of the GM.

6) The physical adept abilities listed in The Grimoire, Awakenings, and Magic in the Shadows will be available to starting characters.  This is due to the minimal number of abilities available in the core book.

7) The inclusion of bioware from Shadowtech is PENDING.

8)  All characters must be cleared with the GM.

9)  I encourage players to send me a "wish list" or equipment, spells etc. that the characters would like to obtain.

Game Play

This is my first attempt at running a pbp game so there are bound to be issues that will need to be worked out as the game progresses.

1) Almost all firearms operate upon the same principle thus all sidearms may be worked upon with any individual firearm build/repair skill.

2)  Different social classes require different methods of interaction.  Characters MUST specialize when taking the Etiquette skill, this is mainly applicable to Corporate (upper class interactions) and Street.  Straight Etiqutte checks will not be made although most rolls will fall into one or the other category, this should minimize defaulting to specialized skills if the character has both specializations.

3)  I prefer to encourage roleplaying but believe that skill and attribute stats SHOULD be a determining factor in social situations.  Roleplaying and situational modifiers (positive and negative) will be applied to the target number that the character is trying to make.  Better and more plausible conversations will recieve a greater  positive modifier.

4)  The Dice Roller at rpgrm.com is not compatible with Shadowrun.  We will be using Irony Games' Dice Server.  Please list player, skill, and the number and type of skill dice being used.  This roller does not support "exploding" dice so please roll an additional number of dice equal to at least half of the total of skill and pool dice used.  The results should be sent to bmngg3@gmail.com

Magic

1) Mind Probe:  This spell will function as a touch spell and not as a line-of-sight.  The drain is now a Moderate as opposed to the listed Severe drain

*Note:  The site with the Character Generator indicates a problem installing the software on Windows XP.  I experienced no problems with a standard install but if you do have a problem the site recommends installing the program via safe mode.

Please let me know what you think about adding bioware from Shadowtech.  I have conflicting opinions on this issue and I am interested in what you, the players, have to say.  This is less a vote than an opportunity for you to sway my opinion, although the "vote" will be considered.

Once this is decided then I see no other real obstruction to character creation.
